A: All cats and kittens are fully vetted prior to adoption. This will include: spay/ neuter, microchip, and age appropriate vaccinations. All cats are treated for fleas, as well as dewormed.

A: Young kittens must be adopted in pairs unless you have an existing kitten or young cat at home. Kittens who remain with one of their littermates or a similary-aged companion are healthier and happier. And in the long run, they are better adjusted pets. There is extensive research supporting this as well as our own years of experience. Single kittens are prone to behavioral issues that are born from boredom and loneliness. Kittens need a ton of stimulation, so a cat friend actually means much less work for you the adopter!

A: At this time we do not take in owner surrenders. We recommend privately rehoming your pet before considering taking them to a shelter. Local Facebook groups as well as Nextdoor are great for this type of networking.
If you must relinquish your pet, please visit Give Up a Pet (Rehome) | San Diego Humane Society to explore available options and resources.
San Diego Humane Society campuses (including San Diego, El Cajon, Escondido and Oceanside) are taking in owner-surrender pets by appointment only. To schedule an appointment, please call 619-299-7012

A: As a small, entirely volunteer powered rescue, we rely on compassionate people like you to do this life saving work. Here is how you can help:
•ADOPT When you adopt, you save a life, and gain a lifelong companion. The adoption fee is truly a donation, helping cover food, supplies, and medical care while your cat is in foster. “Adopt, don’t shop” is a phrase worth a million lives. Thank you for being part of the solution.
• DONATE Every dollar helps us provide supplies like food and litter, as well as medical services such as spay and neuter. You can give through PayPal, Venmo, or contribute items directly. Can’t give money? Consider donating goods or services-like a gift card or offering we can use in a fundraiser or raffle.
• FOSTER Each day, cats in need are waiting for a safe place to land. When you foster, you open your heart and home temporarily, but the impact lasts forever. We provide everything you need: food, litter, supplies, medical care, and full support.
•VOLUNTEER Volunteering isn’t one-size-fits-all. From admin help to creative ideas, transport, or event support - your time and talents can make a huge difference. Visit our Volunteer page and let’s find the perfect fit
•SHARE You’d be surprised how much it helps. Share our cats on social media, tell your friends, repost a story. A single share could lead to a forever home!
